Re: Goldsand Beach~Harvest Festival

Ridge stayed up in the branches of tree for a long while. He stood on the slender branch, letting the tears fall until he knew he had to come down. He had to returned to the den with the cubs. Part of him wished Tern would call him back, apologize, but he couldn't ask that of Tern.

The apologetic smile Tern had given him in response didn't help. If anything, it made it all the worse. The image seemed to sear into Ridge's mind.

Finally, he descended the tree, crouching on branch in the deep shadows, hoping to catch one last glimpse of Tern, but, at the same time, dreading if he did.

Pathfinder glided beneath the tree, coming to where he had been called. He caught Tern's scent, a snarl rumbling in his throat. Ridge lowered himself carefully to the ground where he hoped Tern wouldn't see him and went to greet his wolf-friend. He and Pathfinder headed deeper into the wood where they crossed paths with the cubs, starting the journey back to the Holt.

--

**There's always the chance of encountering something,** Serpent Fang told Brooksong seriously. Experience had taught him as much. He'd had more than one close brush, today being one of the more memorable ones.

**Perhaps one day,** he conceded reluctantly. The thought of one of the WolfFolk entering the sea was preposterous and the thought made his lips draw back in a sneer at the prospect. He greatly disliked the idea, but this was Brooksong. **You would have a great deal to learn, Daughter of the Forest.**

"By all means do", Snaketwist said amiably to Straystar and Windgrace, "at least, if you don't mind that you missed the beginning of this story." Then he continued:

"As I was saying, Gullflight saw two islands close together. He adjusted his sail, and was soon able to set foot on the first of the islands. The sand on the shore was different from ours - it was dark gray, almost black. On that black sand Gullflight saw creatures that resembled lobsters, but were blue in color, and seemed to dwell on the beach rather than in the ocean. There was a multitude of them, so that it was hard to even walk up the beach without stepping on them, which he tried to avoid, for their pincers looked quite dangerous."

"Gullflight managed to get off the beach and into the jungle. There, he saw some familiar trees, and others that were new to him. He found some coconuts and other fruits he knew to be edible, and enjoyed a meal of them. Birds were calling to each other in the canopy, and most of their sounds were strange to Gullflight. Those of the birds he saw were brightly colored, and like no birds he had ever seen before."

"As he was walking along what seemed a forest path, something sticky dropped on his head from the branches above. It covered his face and stuck to his skin. He reached up with his hands and tore it off. Some pain remained on his face, although he wasn't sure how the creature had hurt him. And as he tossed away his attacker, he finally saw its shape. It was an octopus of some kind. And octopus that lived on land and attacked from the trees!"He looked again at his listeners, to see their reactions.

Straystar and Windgrace sat down next the the fire. Windgarace amiled back at Tidemist and nodded greeting at them both.
Straystar raised an eyebrow at the description of the creature that attacked Gullflight, not sure what to make of it and wondering what is could be.

Windgrace leaned on Straystar as she listened to the story calmly but interested.

Brooksong did not know what to make of Serpentfangs hesitation and face expression. Both places were dangerous sure but that was apart of living and seeing new things.

She smiled, "Father says it is better to learn than remain ignorant, I find it exciting and wonderful to see new places. It fascinates me for some reason and I would rather do everything I can and see what I can before having to lead the tribe whenever that comes."

She watched the the sky shimmer in the waters reflection, "I just hope I will be ready to stay in one place at that point.

Oakroot whipped the tear from his cheek. "I knew your Sire still misses Brighteyes, but not that he felt guilty to what had happend to her. He wasn't ever there. Have you asked him about his dreams? Or is he not willy to talk about them?"
This wasn't good, but every body dealt with loss a different way.
"It has been so many turns of the seasons, we Wolkffolk are living in the "now", we forget, sometimes too easy, I......" He wasn't sure he should tell her this, but she had been open to him, it was only fair that he did too!

He sighted and looked at the sky, searching for the special star. Where was she?
Ah, yes, still there!

"On one of my travels I had met another group of elfes, they were nomadic. There was a young woman and she was very.....special to me." He knew his voice sounded raw and full of pain. "I am not ready to tell what had happend, maybe I never will, but it is save to say she changed my life." He cleared his throat before he continued. "She got very sick and after a few days she lost the battle for her life." He pointed to a very bright star. "See that star, the brightest of that group? That is her star, it is my way of dealing with loss, with the pain of.... being left behind."

"Your Sire hasn't found a way to deal with his loss, I don't know how you can help him, it is possible he doesn't want to be helped, this may be his way to keep the memory of her alive, so he won't forget her. I do think you need to talk to him, perhaps persuade him to talk about her, let him remember the good times he has shared with her. It could help him have less nightmares, but I must confess I don't know for sure."

"Would you like to know which star is your mother's?"

Serpent Fang's lips drew back at Straystar's saying. As far as he was concerned, Straystar knew nothing of ignorance. The WolfFolk chieftain had done nothing to give Serpent Fang reason to respect him, neither his ideals nor his actions.

**You may not always be so eager to go exploring. You won't always find things you like,** Serpent Fang lock-sent. He'd explored plenty as a guppy, disappearing for days on end, much to the chagrin of his elders. He'd been restless and wanted to put distance between himself and the Holt. He had little desire now to journey beyond the tribe's hunting grounds.

Serpent Fang had always been serious and stubborn, but that didn't always mean he'd always been a stick in the mud. He hated to idea of allowing one of the WolfFolk into their territory, their home.

**I could teach you, if you had the High One shape you fins and gills.** The offer wasn't one Serpent Fang made lightly. He only ever taught a handful of elves how to hunt in the ocean. Most learned from others.

Brooksong's head turned sharply looking directly at Serpentfang  and she sat a little straighter, placing a hand on the rocks between them. "Really!?" she said her blue eyes practically glowing with excitement. "I understand everything I discover... and have discovered so far in my few years may not always be positive, however, I can't let that stop me from living how I want. To see things and share them them with others... let them know they don't always have to fear what they don't understand."  Her eyes glistened a little in happiness as she smiled at him.

**You really would not mind showing me and teaching me? That means a lot to me** She lock sent to him knowing his previous words were true because they were sent. Her sending was grateful, excited, eager and a little overwhelm at the thought of the whole thing but overall very happy.

**If you're willing, I will teach you,** Serpent Fang told her, lock-sending. His sending was serious and even grim, but his word were honest. He would teach her. Even he didn't know why he had offered, but there was something the young wolf-elf that he found he approved of.

**Fear keeps us alive,** Serpent Fang told her, **but the way you live is your choice.** He wondered how Brooksong's tribesmen would react if they learned what he had offered. He didn't know of any WolfFolk to have ventured under the waves. Brooksong had a guppy's eagerness, but she was strong and wanted to be an adult, so he would treat he as one.

Brooksong's eager sending was almost like being shaken to Serpent Fang, he wasn't used to such eagerness and happiness being directed at him. He looked at her radiant face and nodded slowly. He could teach her, if she could learn.

Re: Goldsand Beach~Harvest Festival

Post by Tidemist on Mon Jan 19, 2015 2:16 am

Tidemist let out the obligatory gasps of awe when Snaketwist described the strange creatures found dwelling on the land instead of the sea, though she was only doing it in a teasing manner, mimicking the way a pip would react to it, and her own vague memories of her reactions. She giggled a little and pulled herself up off the sand, deciding it was probably more dignified for a chief to sit up right instead of laying in the sand. She brushed some of the sand from her arm and side and hair, giving a brief smile and glance at the two wolf blooded elves who had joined, wanting to see their reaction to a story they had probably never heard before. *It's a child's story.* she explained in a brief locksending with Straystar and Windgrace, not wanting them to become too confused.

Re: Goldsand Beach~Harvest Festival

Post by Leanan on Mon Jan 19, 2015 4:57 am

Snaketwist almost laughed at Tidemist's reaction. Her imitation of a child brought to mind times long ago, when she had been one, and listened to his stories. He continued:

"Gullflight explored the island some more, and managed not to get attacked by octopi or anything else. He found no signs of inhabitants. At the center of the island there was a volcano, which explained the black sand. He gathered some coconuts and other fruit and loaded them to his boat. Finally, he took his boat and rowed to the other island. There, similarly to the first one, the beach was full of the blue lobster-creatures. He walked into the jungle, keeping an eye on the canopy in case of another surprise attack."

"The jungle on this island was different, though. Every tree and shrub was covered in something that resembled some kind of dangling blue moss. The trees seemed to be suffering of it - their leaves looked yellow, somehow diseased. Gullflight did not like the forest, something was wrong with it. This island also had a volcano at the center. There was also a spring full of good, clear water, and Gullflight fetched his water barrel and filled it from the spring. Then he left the pair of islands, and sailed away again, for he was still yearning to see more."

"Gullflight sailed a long way, a full eight of days, without seeing any other islands. Sometimes, dolphins kept him company by playing in the water along his boat. Twice, he saw a giant whale blow out water on the surface. Gullflight fished from his boat to save his supplies for when they would be needed. He collected rainwater whenever possible."

"After this time, there finally came another island to explore. It was a large but flat one, clearly without a volcano. From afar, the sand glittered white and shiny, reminding him of home. He wondered what he would find there."

Snaketwist paused again. He hoped he wasn't boring his audience. After all, it was just a children's story.

"Don't stop there, coming in on a story once started is one thing. To have it not finished is unheard of in my tribe. Unless you're stopping because you need to moisten your throat?" He held up the flask of Dreamberry wine toward Snaketwist, "Dreamberrywine is also good for stories if either of you are interested." he said with a smile and a wink.

Windgrace smiled and nodded "Yes, please continue."

"OHH Thank you! I can't wait, I will tell father tomorrow I'm sure he will be fine with in since he trusts your tribe very much."

Snaketwist smiled at the wolf-chief. "I have no intention of stopping, but I admit that my throat is getting a little dry. Thank you!" He said and took the flask. He drank just a few mouthfuls, knowing the potency of the drink, and handed the flask back to Straystar. Then he continued the story:

"Gullflight sailed closer to the island, and noticed something alarming. Smoke was rising from several locations near the shore. He sailed yet closer, and saw boats on the shore. Closer again, and he heard a shrill cry that meant nothing to him, yet felt different from the cries of birds."

"He could have turned back, and it might have been a wise decision. But Gullflight was young, wisdom was something he hadn't yet aqcuired in plenty. He sailed his boat closer, rowed to the shore, and pulled up his boat beside those already there. Someone came to greet him from the edge of the jungle."

"It was a human male. His skin was black as the night sky and he wore a wide hat made of straw, clothes of brightly colored fabric, and a lot of jewelry made of small seashells and pearls. Gullflight greeted him politely, knowing the words would not be understood but the meaning might, and spread open his hands to show he had arrived without weapons."

"The human smiled, and spread his hands likewise, then spoke words that Gullflight didn't understand. Other humans arrived, a whole tribe of them - they must have been waiting under the line of palm trees on the edge of the beach. A female offered Gullflight half a coconut with bright liquid inside. Gullflight thought it was coconut water and drank it all in one go, then started coughing because although it might have had coconut in it, it also had quite a bite - stronger perhaps, even, than your dreamberry juice." This last Snaketwist said to Straystar with a smile.

"The humans all laughed at this, and it seemed they accepted Gullflight as their guest. He did not know if they thought he was a kind of human too, or if they had known elves before as friends. They took him to a village made of many little huts, and gave him all kinds of strange things to eat and drinks to drink, and many of the drinks were the kind that make one's head dizzy. Some took it as their task to teach him their language, while others just talked at him, seemingly not caring that he did not understand. Some of the young human lasses performed a dance to the beat of drums, one old man sang songs in a mournful voice - it was quite a celebration, and Gullflight thought maybe they didn't get visitors often, living here in the middle of the wide ocean."

"But of course things aren't always what they seem like..." Snaketwist began, keeping just a little artistic pause before the dangerous bit of the story.

Serpent Fang didn't reply to Brooksong's excited words immediately. He didn't know if her father would be pleased, but Straystar was more trusting than some. He would keep her safe to the best of his abilities, but he didn't know if that would be any consolation to Straystar. He recalled his own displeasure when Minnow, Shoal's daughter, was a guppy. She had vanished into the forest without telling anyone. He and Shoal had gone after her, discovering her to be fine, but they had both been upset.

**I suggest you rest tonight,** Serpent Fang finally lock-sent. His sending was tired, exhausted even. His wounded arm may have been healed, but he needed rest himself. He knew he wouldn't seek out someone to share furs with tonight. He desired the familiar touch and sending of a certain elf.

Serpent Fang rose to go. He looked out over the water, sending to Brooksong, **When you want me to show you the ocean, send for me.**

He dove into the water in one fluid movement. He would seek out the one he desired to see. His sending closed the conversation. When Brooksong was ready, she just needed to send.

Ash didn't speak to him as Oakroot led her to a quiet place nearby a fire.

He saw their Chief and his mate sitting by another, listening to one of the Seafolk. He looked better and had to think who he was. He did see Chief Tidemist, but what was the name of the other....
Snake.....something....Snake.....
Argh, he hated it when he couldn't remember the simple things! He was sure it would come to him, but as long as he tried, the name would escape him, so he tried not to remember.

He sat down with Ash and waited for her to speak again. Sometime silence was the best way to look for answers.

She giggled a little as he paused, prompting mild frustration in Straystar and watched with amusement as he drank from the offered skin. She pulled her legs close and continued to listen with enjoyment as he told the tale. She hadn't heard it in many years, and it felt good to hear it again like a little child. It helped to bring up other good memories from her youth, spending time with her mother and father. She continued the act, gasping dramatically when Snaketwist mentioned the humans with night skin then anxiously as he trailed off.

“What happened, what happened?” She chimed out, struggling not to laugh as she did.

Straystray smile at Tidemist, took a swig of the flask and held the flask out to her if she wanted it. He knew Windgrace did not want any, she preferred dreamberries and the drink Swiftwing made. He looked back to Snaketwist want for him to continue the tale.

Brooksong was a little surprised at his sudden departure for the second time. She tilted her head as the ripples faded quickly from his dive. 'That must just be how he is' she thought with a smile. She was not sleepy yet and really enjoyed her new perch. Laying back she watched the stars a little longer and listened to the waves on the rocks.

Re: Goldsand Beach~Harvest Festival

Post by Leanan on Tue Jan 20, 2015 6:31 am

Snaketwist continued the story.

"Finally, Gullflight fell asleep from all the celebration and the heady drinks. In the morning he woke up, and it was the worst awakening of his life. He had been bound with ropes, tightly, and could not move his limbs at all. He started shouting, hoping his new friends the humans would release him. Some of them did turn up - young males with long spears. Instead of releasing him, they told him with gestures to be quiet. One gave him a bit of water to drink. After a while, the man who had first greeted him, the one with the pearl and shell jewelry, whom Gullflight guessed to be their chief, came to talk to him."

"Gullflight did not understand most of his words. But the human seemed to be apologizing. Gullflight gathered that something bad would happen soon. The human left. The young guards remained. There was a feel of waiting. After what felt like a long time, there was a shrill cry, similar to the one he had heard when approaching the island. Boats came to the shore, and many human males got out."

"These looked different to the inhabitants of the island. The newcomers were taller, more muscular, and their skin was more brown than black. They wore leather loincloths, feathers in their hair, and jewelry made of the teeth of daggerteeth. Each one carried a spear and shield. They approached the island chief, and it seemed the chief was frightened of them. After a bit of discussion, Gullflight's captors gave him to the newcomers. They took him to one of their boats, along with some other things the islanders seemed to have given them: food, mats woven out of reeds, jugs of something liquid."

"Gullflight's new captors rowed away from the island, and Gullflight thought he'd never get back home; his boat, Skimmer, was left behind. The tall humans rowed a long time, and all that time, none of them spoke to each other or their prisoner. Finally, they reached an island. It was another volcano island, and there was smoke coming out from the crater of the volcano. They landed on the shore, and Gullflight was carried to a village. Humans stared at him from the doors and windows of large huts. Children sneaked closer, trying to get a better view of him, then darted off when the young warriors glared at them. Gullflight was taken to a small hut with no windows and a dirt floor. He was given water and some fruit to eat, then left alone, with one of the warriors guarding the hut, standing outside in the doorway."

"Could I have more of that wine?" Snaketwist asked. His throat was a bit dry again.

Re: Goldsand Beach~Harvest Festival

Post by Tidemist on Tue Jan 20, 2015 11:50 am

Tidemist saw Straystar offer the wine skin to her, and smiled as she took it quietly, enjoying a few deep gulps of the liquid. It helped warm her almost instantly, and gave her a pleasant sort of fuzzy feeling all over. She handed the skin back to its own and turned her head back to Snaketwist, listening to the story. She smiled, though her muscles tensed a bit reflexively as he told how the humans had tied up Gullflight. She had never even seen a human, but she knew the stories, told to her by the elders and the High One. Humans were creatures to be feared and avoided whenever possible.

She dropped her act now as she listened raptly. She remembered what happened, but would Snaketwist change the story a little? The apprehension made her feel strung tightly, and she leaned a little forward, a bit closer to the fire and towards Snaketwist. Then she almost had to withhold a small groan when he asked for the skin again, but then she had to smile at herself. She was acting far too much like a silly little pip.

Taking back the wine skin from Tidemist "You may, can't have our tale spinner get parched," he said passing the flask back to Snaketwist with a smile. "But don't leave us on on edge for to long, it is not looking good for Gullflight at the moment. Humans are pretty dangerous from the stories my tribe tells of them and these ones are not sounding much safer." He settled back into the sand placing his arms behind him for support. He was still wide awake from having slept most of the day at the riverbank and had not drank enough earlier to make himself sleepy, in fact this was one of the years he may actually remeber. Windgrace looked a little tired from the festival preparations and days activities.

Snaketwist drank deeper this time. Storytelling was thirsty work. He gave back the wine skin, then he went on with the story:

"Gullflight waited in the hut a long time, or so it felt. Suddenly, the earth shook, and he could see from the doorway that it was raining ash. He guessed the volcano must be erupting. There was shouting outside, angry voices as well as fearful ones. The warriors came into the hut again and untied Gullflight's legs so that he could walk. He thought that they must have some pity for him at least, to take him to safety from the volcano's wrath."

"But instead, they led him up to the fiery mountain! There were four of the warriors guarding him, and one man who was giving them orders. This last one was dressed differently; he wore clothes made of palm leaves and a huge mask of a snarling, angry face, that covered not only his head but most of his chest as well. From what could be seen of his body, Gullflight guessed him to be an older man."

"The warriors were recluctant to go up the mountainside, quite understandably, as the volcano was spewing smoke, ashes and sparks. But they seemed to be even more frightened of the masked man, even though he had no weapon. Finally they came to the edge of the crater. Smoke was everywhere in the air, it was hard to breathe."

"This was when Gullflight realized his fate. The humans, for some superstitious reason, were going to throw him into the crater of the volcano! He had heard of humans in old stories, they were always worshipping weird gods that yearned for gifts of blood. He became very afraid."

"And the men would have thrown him in, he was sure, but the mountain shook again, more violently this time, and the masked man lost his balance and fell into the crater himself! Gullflight could hear him screaming for a while, and after there was no noise, the echo of that scream stayed inside his head."

"The young warriors looked at each other. And then they looked at Gullflight. And then they looked at each other again, and spoke some, and bowed down to the ground in front of Gullflight! He was not sure what they believed him to be, but he was relieved when they cut off the ropes. The volcano, by this time, was starting to spew lava, so they all ran down the mountain, to get to safety."

"In the village, people were busy packing their most valued things, as well as food and water, to boats. Space was made for Gullflight in one of the boats. Soon, the whole tribe was rowed a little way away from the shore, where they watched, in safety, while the volcano erupted in fire, smoke, ash and lava. It seemed to Gullflight this was something that had happened before, and would happen again."

Snaketwist paused just a little, trying to remember which bit of the story came next.

Re: Goldsand Beach~Harvest Festival

‘I’m sorry to hear about your… friend.’
She didn’t know a better way to put, since it was clear from Oakroots voice that she was more to him than that. The fire is pleasant, and welcomes her like an old friend when she sits in front of it. The remaining sea water dries up on her skin, leaving a fine layer of salt.
‘My sire has dealt with the loss. The thing he can’t handle is the guilt. He feels guilty for not being there. He got injured the day before and was ordered to stay behind. When he lost my mom he lost himself for a while and by the time he got back to his own a turn of the seasons had past. I had grown and he felt guilty for not being there, while I had to deal with the grief on my own. The feeling of guilt and sorrow kept building until it tumbled over and buried him with it.’
She pulls her legs to her chest and leans her chin on her knees. ‘I don’t remember much from my mother except warmth. The faint flashes I have of her are all shrouded in warmth.’
She tilts her head to Oakroot. ‘The way my sire loved my mother, still loves my mother, it’s all consuming. They were lovers before they recognized, the moment they did they became one. He lost part of himself when my mom died and there alone is what terrifies me for the whole recognition thing.’

Yes, Recognition was a tricky thing, Oakroot agreed. It had never happend to him and he didn't mind it hadn't.... yet.
.
"Yes, Recognition can be easy when wanted between two elfes. But when it happens unexpectedly when the two aren't even Lovemates, like today, time is needed to figure out how to go from that point on. We will never know how we react, untill it happens. I for one will not know what to do. Some of the maiden here have already Recognized, the Seafolk-maiden.... well, let's say I haven't met them all, so who knows! Even then, how could we have a relation, when I want to stay in the forest, live by night and she wants to dwell in the ocean and live by day? Could we stand strong and find a solution or would we part ways after forfilling Recognition?"
It wasn't he who was troubled by these questions, but he knew some one was.

"Love is different. You see some one, you grow together, love each other and a bond is made. When with Recognition it is the other way around, you first have created bond and maybe you will grow together, perhaps even love each other...." In Recognition you could make a choice!
Stay together........or not!

"The bond between two elfes is how you want it to be, Recognition, love or simply a friendship. I know not all bonds are so.... all consuming, as it had been with your mother and sire. Some cling to each other, leaving no room for others, but some share and give space to the other, because the other needs it, or maybe both.... Only that has nothing to do with Recognition, but all to do with choice, with who you are, both of you!"

Oakroot threw a few small braches in the fire.
"If it were up to me, I'd stick to only lovemating."

Re: Goldsand Beach~Harvest Festival

Snaketwist went on with the story.

"The volcano erupted for almost two days. During that time, the humans lived in their boats, and shared their food and water with Gullflight. They seemed to be afraid to speak to him or to come too close, even in the crowded space in the boats. Finally the fiery mountain quieted. The humans waited some more, then rowed back to their village."

"Fire had spread on the island, and there was a thick layer of ash covering everything. Parts of the village had burned badly. The humans started cleaning and rebuilding. Gullflight sat under a palm tree and sighed. What would become of him?"

"Some time later, an older human male came to talk to him. To his surprise, he spoke the language of the people on the white sand island, which Gullflight could understand a little. The man asked what he wanted to do. Gullflight managed to explain that he wanted to go back to where he came from. The man just nodded, and left him."

"It took a few more days, during which the humans continued to feed him but still wouldn't talk to him, until he was told to go to a boat with some of the young warriors. He hesitated, but the older man told him they'd take him back."

"The humans did indeed take him back to the white sand island. Instead of greeting the locals, they just left him on the beach and rowed away again. The black-skinned humans were astounded to see Gullflight again. They seemed frightened of him, too. Gullflight had had enough of humans. He asked them to give him supplies for a journey home, and they obeyed, as if he was one entitled to command them. He was relieved to see his boat, Skimmer, hadn't been damaged. He loaded up the supplies and left the island, wondering what kind of stories the humans would tell of him."

Snaketwist looked at his listeners. It was getting late, and the beach was getting cold. "Gullflight visited three more islands before returning to High Cove. But perhaps I should finish this story another time? I have told you the most interesting parts, and it is rather late." He stated.

"Ah! Yes! Snaketwist! He calls himself Snaketwist!" Suddenly Oakroot remembered the storyteller's name. "He can tell a good story!" Since Ash was in deepthinking his attention wandered to the fire next to him.

It seemed humans were all alike in this world. You had good ones and bad ones, worshipping or fearing everything they didn't know or understand.
He had no defined feeling on the humans, he had met some who he had called friend, but there were a lott more who he would never approach, because he knew first contact would end up in blood shed...

"So he made it of the island!" Again, it seemed one human controlled how they acted toward the unknown. But is was good to hear, that not all thoughts were foretold by the leader and they could still make decisions of their own.
"This Gullflight had been a great traveller, visiting three more islands... "
Oakroot wanted to know what happend to him, where he had been.....

Tidemist smiled as Snaketwist finished the story a bit swiftly, then asked if it should be continued another time. She glanced at the sky and was surprised to see both moons were high, setting the beach aglow with silvery light. She dragged herself up onto her feet and stretched long before she took a look over the beach.”Aye, I suppose so. The pips are all sound asleep...no wonder it was so quiet. I guess it'd be time to declare the festival over. Would you agree, Straystar?” she looked down at the elder chief with a slightly tired smile. It had been a fun day, even if it had been perhaps a bit too full, but it seemed to have been yet another step towards mending the bitter feelings between tribes.

Straystar grinned and yawned stretching. "I guess so it has been a long day and some have plans for the morning by others. An excellent tale Snaketwist you should consider telling one next festival for sure," he smiled at the elf as he and Windgrace stood. "Well we are off to find a spot to curl up to sleep. Don't have too much  fun without us. See you tomorrow." he smiled and nodded to them both.

Windgrace gave a small wave goodby "Sleep well."

Brooksong stood up and walked back over the rocks going to go find Moonhowl who was waiting in the tree lines for her. "Ever my shadow aren't you? she said to him as she rubbed his head. "let's go get some sleep we are going out with Kaimeta in the morning.
