Re: Stormcloud's Den
Stormcloud said goodnight to her mother. Then she headed for her own den. Bigpaws had departed to join his packmates, perhaps for a hunt.
Stormcloud's den was close to the ground, with a few steps shaped in the wood to lead there. This was because Bigpaws sometimes slept in the den with her. The entire floor of the den was covered in furs from Stormcloud's kills, some rather old and worn. The reason for this was that Stormcloud was a restless sleep, rolling all over when she dreamed, and this way she would stay on soft furs no matter where she rolled.
In the walls there were little niches for the things she needed. There were beeswax candles in little clay bowls, bits of string and strips of leather stored in case they were needed, a whetstone for sharpening her knives, spare clothes, and other such everyday items.
There was a strange scent in the den, of some rather sharp, pungent herbs. There were hanging from the ceiling, and were of a plant that kept fleas away. Denning with a wolf, this was a necessary precaution.
Stormcloud entered her den, took off her boots, and the rather wilted flower from her hair. She lay down on her furs - it was too hot to cover herself with them. She held the flower in her hand, and close her eyes, hoping she would dream of the festival.

Re: Stormcloud's Den
Crowspirit was still lazing in the Everhome Tree's branches when her tribemates arrived home. She sat up, alert, as their scents and sounds found her nostrils and ears.
*The festival go well?* she sent openly, feeling the need to make sure everything was well before she continued her conversation with Silence.

- Spoiler:
- sorry, posted in here so that you would for sure see it X) I figured it could work anyway since her sending would reach the dens.

Re: Stormcloud's Den
Stormcloud had almost fallen asleep when Crowspirit's sending reached her. She smiled wryly to herself. **You weren't there? Have you heard any of it yet?** She asked, already looking forward to pass on the news, both the good and bad kind. Stormcloud wasn't usually a gossip, but now she could not resist sharing the events of the day with her tribemate.

Re: Stormcloud's Den
**I stayed to watch the Holt,** Crowspirit replied, knowing that it was only half the truth of why she chose not to go, **Missing cubs, tuskpig, daggertooth,** she listed what she knew had happened at the festival. She thought of Silence's cryptic mention of the High One, and wondered if something else had happened.
**Is Skybolt ok?** she queried, both her and Ridge's concern pricking the back of her mind.

Re: Stormcloud's Den
**You got the most of it, there.** Stormcloud replied to Crowspirit. **Skybolt is fine.** She sent, keeping in mind that her mother had asked her not to tell anyone what had happened. She hesitated a moment, wondering if she should mention Kaimeta and Tern's Recognition. Everyone who had been at the festival knew about it, she realized, so it was only fair that Crowspirit learned too. **There was a Recognition. Kaimeta and one of the SeaFolk, Tern. It...** She was not sure how to express it **it seems to be a bit difficult for them.** That, she decided, was enough information. Time for other subjects. **One of ours won the archery contest, one of theirs won the knife throwing through I did my best, and our tribemates won the tug-of-war.** She reported, feeling just a bit dissappointed to not have won her bit.
- Spoiler:
- OOC: It doesn't say anywhere that I can find which tribe the winners were in the first two contests, so I just made that up. Sorry.

Re: Stormcloud's Den
**Understandably,** Crowspirit sent, **The High One has two tribes to look after. That must make things complicated.** Crowspirit sympathized with the High One. The wolf-elf knew that, although she would accept recognition if it came, she would find putting a cub and lifemate before her tribe a difficult decision to make.
**You should've won the knife throwing,** Crowpsirit lock-sent, **The other must've been lucky. Did you participate in the tug-of-war? It's good that our talents were able to be shown to the SeaFolk. The relationship with them seems well, but if it grows rocky they'll know it won't be wise to face us.**

Re: Stormcloud's Den
**No, I made a mistake with my knives. But I shall try again next time! It's too bad you missed the festival, it was lots of fun! I even danced with the High One!** Stormcloud replied. **I did not join the tug-of-war. Plenty of others were willing, and I know I am less strong than most.** She admitted. **Now that you mention it, there was some bad feeling towards each other. The usual loudmouths, getting out of control. But nothing big, no actual fighting.** She reported.

Re: Stormcloud's Den
**I don't mind,** Crowspirit replied, a shrug in her sending, **I'm more content watching over the Holt. You're stronger than most SeaFolk, I'm sure,** she then countered. **So no one was hurt then?** The mention of loss of control had left her concerned.

Re: Stormcloud's Den
**No one was hurt in that incident**, Stormcloud confirmed to Crowspirit. She yawned and closed her eyes. **I'm getting sleepy. Do you have more questions?** She asked. It was not her way to be rude, but it was getting harder and harder to stay awake. The day had been quite a long and tiresome one.

Re: Stormcloud's Den
**Sleep well,** Crowspirit sent as she had no further questions. She pulled her mind away from Stormcloud, bringing it back to the present world around her.

Re: Stormcloud's Den
**You sleep well too, Crowspirit**, Stormcloud sent, the sending slightly fuzzy from sleepiness. She curled up on her furs and closed her eyes. She fell asleep almost immediately.
Stormcloud dreamed of swimming underwater in the ocean, with the tail she was going to be shaped with. Things in the sea of her dreams were pretty. Suddenly something attacked her from the deeps. It was a tusk-pig, and it had a tail just like that of a fish! Stormcloud woke to her fright. It took her a moment to remember she was safe in her den. Once her racing heart had calmed, she found the dream a bit amusing. Tusk-pigs with fish-tails, indeed!
She closed her eyes and after a while sleep claimed her again. Her dreams were calmer now.
